Welcome to my dark but cozy little corner of the Internet. I've been writing on the dark side of fiction since the late 1960s and early 70s. Some have wondered why I write dark fiction. Disturbing fiction. I guess you could say I've been drawn to the fantastic and horror fiction since an early age. We're all afraid of something. Why not the safe scare of a good mystery or horror story?

Don't turn your television set on or sign on to the Internet. The horrors of the world you will see there are far more disturbing than the chilling, fun scares a good horror or supernatural mystery tale will delight you with. Many think I have a Dr. Jekyll, Ms. Hyde personality because of my love and embracing of dark fiction and the supernatural yet still remaining a sucker for good, old fashioned cozy mysteries where cats are often the protagonist's side kick and nary a drop of blood is shed on the page.

I believe writing dark fiction or even mysteries involving murderers is a form of exorcism.  The author can free some of her own demons, creating worlds where the dark may threaten us and sometimes we lose along the way, but the good always triumphs in the end. My interest in the dark and the macabre has scared away more than one dinner partner.

I'm merely a storyteller, wanting to offer a good scare or a good mystery.
